PDEC 52 Questions - Ch # 23 - Beach

Welcome to my blog,

It's time for another Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge ... WooHoo!   This week we were to make a project depicting a 'Beach' theme.  Remember when you were a child and making sand castles on the beach?  Maybe you were the one who collected shells, like my sister.  Gather your craft supplies and start creating a masterpiece about your adventure.

52 Questions Week #23 Challenge
Create a project featuring a beach theme.

This was a hard one for me.  I am not fond of sand, therefore I don't really do much with beaches.  Also, I live about 300 miles from the Texas coastline.  With that said, I will tell you of my last visit (November 2010) to the coastline.  My family decided to spend Thanksgiving at Galveston.  We had not been there and thought it would be a great week of vacation play.  Well, it was even though the weather was foggy and a bit rainy for most of our visit.  Thanksgiving day was glorious; the sun was shining and the wind was minimal.  We stayed at Inverness by the Sea.  It was an older complex, but nicely appointed.  It was on the sea wall.  It was soothing to hear the waves mostly crashing, but sometimes gently lapping on the shore.  We mostly listened at night because the traffic noise during the day was louder than the waves.  One day of our trip we went on a ferry ride to Bolivar Island.  That was a great experience.  My first time on a ferry.  Loved watching the gulls fly around the ferry as we went too and fro.

Galveston has a lot to offer.  There are remarkable Victorian homes to tour.  There is a driving/walking tour to see the exterior of noteworthy homes.  Also, after the last hurricane many of the trees were destroyed and rotting.  The city decided to have a tree sculptor work on many of the trees in the area.  There is a driving tour to view this wonderful collection.  It was unbelievable what the artist was able to coax out of the trees.

I just began summer vacation today and I am ready to take a trip to the beach. It is only about 70 - 90 mins away, but it hasn't stopped raining this week. Yuck!

Great card,
Georgiana
