PDE Challenges - 52 Questions - Ch#17

Hello again:

This week at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges 52 Questions we are asking ourselves, "How many times have YOU moved?"  For my age I have moved very few times.  For a 16 year old it would be almost once a year (see tag below).  Some people have moved so many time that they have it down to a science how to pack and possibly how to pack quickly.  Me, it takes forever to get things ready for a move ... too many trinkets.  Here is my offering for this week:
I just love the little bird.  Here are the deets:  Tag and base cut @ 4-1/2" from ELEGANT EDGES, page 46 using Oblong+shift and Shadow+shift features.  Bird, birdhouse and cloud are from (my fave) CREATE A CRITTER, page 65.  Bird, , using Layer 1, Layer2 and Shadow feature, cut @ 2".  Birdhouse, using Accessory and Accessory+shift feature, cut @ 2-1/2".  Cloud, using Phrase+shift, cut @ 2".  All edges were brushed with Cream Brown fluid chalk ink by Color Box.  Card stock is by The Paper Company.  Glittered card stock is from DCWV, The Glitter Stack.  Green floral background paper is from DCWV, The Spring Fling Summer Days Combo Pack.  Accents used are Blue Rhinestone and Google eye with blue lid and lashes by Darice, and Numbers in Navy by Making Memories Little Letters.  Also used a Pure Blue Writer by Zig (EK Success).

This was a fun little project.  Oh, before I forget ... the Welcome sign is hand cut not part of the CAC cuts.  I used Fiskars Zig-Zag Edger for the edges.

Remember our Blog Candy for the month of April is the 12 x 12 collection Sweet Summertime pack by Echo Park.  Our sponsor this month is Darlene of Simple Southern Blessings!  One lucky USA tag participant will have a chance to win this wonderful Blog Candy this month.

Celebrate w/Cake

Hello all:

Today I am sharing a new birthday card.  I just love my SIMPLY CHARMED cart.  I have a wonderful time working on these cheerful designs.  I have three views of this card, so please be patient ...

Okay, see the little green tab ... the next pic has a reveal ...

And here is the final pic with the tag completely revealed.  I popped the cake up on 1 layer of foam tape to allow the tag to move freely.  It was a bit of a squeeze!

I had a lot of fun with this card.  Here are the details:  ELEGANT EDGES, page 38 using the Oblong+shift and Shadow+shift features, cut at 4-3/4" and 2-1/4".  SIMPLY CHARMED, page 74 <BdayCake>, Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 4 and Shadow features.  I did not want the face of Layer 1 on this card.

Card stock if from The Paper Company, except the pink and it is from Bazzill.  Yellow dot patterned paper is from DCWV, the Spring Fling Summer Day Combo stack.  The frosting (layer 4) is Fiesta Confetti from Scrap-Ease.  Celebrate sticker is from my stash and the tag pull is a border sticker from Birthday Sticker Borders by Sandylion.  Stamp is from Make a Wish Quotes by Fiskars.  Pineapple Glitter Glue from Joann's was used on the candle flames.  My favorite adhesives: ATG and foam tape by Scotch make their usual appearance as does 2 Way Glue by Zig (EK Success).

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:
Paper Playtime #72 - Birthday with a sentiment
The Pink Elephant Challenge #145 - Hello Sunshine - Use Yellow
Pile It On #17 - Sparkle and Shine

Toodles and Have a crafty evening,

Journey Butterfly

I have a new creation for you.  It is a Butterfly card.  New creation reminds me of the verse in 2 Corinthians 5 ... It says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (v.17 NIV)  I love that verse.  That is partly why I love butterflies.  They exemplify the verse notated.  As you know butterflies start as caterpillars ... the old becomes new.  WOW, God is so good!

I had fun making this card.  The background is from ELEGANT EDGES, page 25 using the Oblong+shift feature.  The butterfly can be found in CRICUT SAMPLER, page 28 and and WALK IN MY GARDEN, page 115 and .  I cut the background at 5" and the butterfly at 4-1/2".  I wanted a large butterfly.  Cardstock is from The Paper Company and Bazzill Basics (the pink is called Watermelon Sensation ... I love that name).  Glittered cardstock is from DCWV.  Patterned paper is from Pastel Garden by Colorbok.  Buttons are from the Citrus pak from Favorite Findings.  Journey is a sticker from Charming Thoughts by Bo Bynny Press.  Stitching is done with a White Jelly Roll pen.  Used my favorite adhesive ... my ATG and foame tape by Scotch, 2 Way Glue by EK Success and Ultra Thin Glue Dots.

I am sending this off to Girls Love Mail.  I saw an article in CardMaker magazine about sending encouraging mail to Gina Mulligan so she can forward it to breast cancer victims for encouragement during their journey.  This is a wonderful thing.  I know that my cousin and aunt would have loved encouraging mail during their journeys.  Go visit Gina Mulligan at http://www.ginamulligan.com/ .

I am also entering this into Mary's Cardz TV Challenge #8 - "Color Me A Rainbow!"   Create a card or craft project for any occasion using colors from the rainbow...pink, blue, green & yellow ONLY...you can also add small amounts of black & white.

Thanks for stopping by for a looksee.

Here is my offering for this week:
I chose to be a bit colorful this week ... well, maybe a LOT colorful!  Putting SEVEN letters on a 4-1/2" tag was a bit of a challenge ... heehee!!!  My tag is cut from ELEGANT EDGES, page 46 using Oblong and Shadow features.  Card stock used was Medium Purple, Yellow, Bright Green, Orange, Red and White  by The Paper Company.  The two-toned Blue dot paper is from Spring Fling Summer Days Combo Stack by DCWV.  Colorful alpha is Toddler Alphabet by Sandylion (this has been in my stash for a while).  Remaining stickers are Flavia by Colorbok.  I used scalloped edger scissors by Fiskars on the bottom of each word tag.  Adhesives used are my trusty ATG (Scotch) and 2 Way Glue Pen (EK Success).  I had a blast putting this together once I figured out the descriptive words I would be using.  Come join in on the play at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges.

Blessings and Happy Crafting,
Belinda
