Digital Scrapbooking Days - Day 4

Welcome to day four of Digital Scrapbooking Days.  Today's daily deal is 50 percent off the Modern Medley Overlays Kit.

Modern Medley Overlays Kit (NA, EU, SP)

The featured guest designer today is Mary Rogers.  She mixed in some of her favorite My Digital Studio downloads with the deal of the day-the Modern Medley Overlays.

Mary had this to say about her project:  "One of the best things about digital is how versatile each kit really is.  It really is okay to use a holiday themed kit for a back to school layout.  My daughter, who is special needs, typically has a hard time adjusting, but not this year!  It was something I really wanted to document.  A 'white space' layout is completely my style - I usually frame and place my photos first and then build my layers around them.  I think a title can be bold or really simple and journaling and telling the story is a must."

Other supplies used:  Winter Frost Kit, Hash It Out Greeting Card Kit, Festive Blooms, Brad Add-On Pack and the Anchored Stamp Brush Set.

Here is a fun layout from Stampin' Up!'s brand new design team member, Amber Meadows.

"One of my favorite things about stamp overlays is that they give you the ability to create your own Designer Series Paper.  You can crop them, change the color or the opacity - you can even layer them for a completely custom look.  Endless possibilities, my friends!  Endless!

With this page I was able to use four different overlays from the Modern Medley Overlay Kit.  That's right - four on one page!  I began by cropping strips of three of my favorite overlays.  Once I started adding color I started to get really excited - and when I get that giddy feeling I know I'm on the right track with my design!  I added a fourth overlay under the first three and turned the opacity way down to 20 percent.  I just wanted to add some subtle interest there nothing that would compete with the other overlays.

Combining different patterns is one of my favorite ways to add interest to a layout and Modern Medley Overlays are perfect for the job.f  It's my new go to kit for my layouts.  You've got to give this one a try!"

Other supplies used:  Mis-Stitched, Fancy Frames, Tickets & Tags, Eyelets, Everyday Woodcuts, Corduroy Buttons, Designer Threads, Top Notch Woodcuts.

Don't forget to show Stampin' Up! how you used the Modern Medley overlays to be entered to win $20 worth of MDS downloads.  Upload your project to the My Digital Studio gallery and tag it "Modern Medley" by November 13 to be entered to win.  The My Digital Studio team will announce the winners on November 15.

Stampin' Up! will have more inspiration for you on Day five along with another Deal of the Day.

AIS Linky Party #15 - Anything Goes

Happy Thursday!

Welcome to Linky Party #15 with An Inky Situation.  This week the theme is:  ANYTHING GOES!

I decided to get a head start on my Christmas Tag making. These 3" x 3" tags are just the ticket. I don't know about you, but I like to use my handmade tags from year to year.

I used Stampin' Up!'s Teeny Tiny Wishes (#128748 wood or #127802 clear) again this week.  There are 24 sayings in this set that cover  a lot of life's occasions.  I just love this stamp set.

All of the paper is from my stash.  The large word (love, hugs, happy and enjoy) were cut from a page of Christmas words.  The other three flags on these tags were hand stamped and hand cut using Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Pick up this wonderful set of stamps at my online Stampin' Up! Store.
