"Waving" Hello

Happy Thursday!

It has been an outstanding day.  The weather is HOT as is expected in July in Texas.  There is a slight breeze although it is a bit humid these days.  It is just a wonderful summer day.

What a shock we have had with the attack on two military facilities in Tennessee.  If you are a praying person, please be in prayer for the families and friends of the fallen and injured and the surrounding areas there in Tennessee.  This is yet another eye-opener for America.

This design has been ‘floating’ around in my mind for the last three days.  I played with the ‘water’, the ‘rays of sunshine’ and more.  The flag many times; first it was too big, then too small and now I think it works quite nicely.

Here are the details:
Stamp sets:  Perfect Pennants and Work of Art (I love this set)
Card stock:  Soft Sky, All Abloom and Stacked with Love DSP stacks (retired)
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar (retired), Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise
Misc:  Circles Collection Framelits Dies, Bermuda Bay Sequins, uni-Ball Signo White Gel Pen, Multipurpose Liquid Glue and SNAIL adhesive

Prize will be 3 digis of choice to the winner!!

I pulled out my Garden Green ink, mounted my ‘swoosh’ from Work of Art and began stamping.  This is certainly a clean and simple design.  The ‘swoosh’ makes quick work of stamping.  To add more emphasis to the top layer I ran my edges over the top of my stamp pad for a 'edgy' effect.  For my manual die-cutting element I cut out a banner with Itty Bitty Banners, stamped my greeting with Teeny Tiny Wishes added a bit of Baker’s Twine and added a little dimension with dimensionals.  I really like the effect of this quick and simple card.

Here are the details (all products Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise stated):
Stamp sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes and Work of Ark
Paper:  Whisper White
Ink:  Garden Green
Misc:  Bitty Banner Framelits, Tangerine Tango Baker’s Twine and Stampin’ Dimensionals

Now it is your turn to join in on the fun.  You have until March 16, 2015 to link up your creation.

Pray without ceasing

It's me again!

I have another page to share from my Scripture Art Journal.  This week our verse was 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ... "Pray without ceasing."  I love this verse.  It tells us what we are to be doing with our time ... very to the point.

This font is handwritten.  I had a terrible time with the pen on this one, but that is all part of it being and art journal ... to show your progress along the way.

Items used were:
Stamp set:  Work of Art
Ink:  Strawberry Slush and Tempting Turquoise
Pen:  Bic Black 1.6mm

The inks used were TOO bright with the first stamping, so I stamped off on scratch paper first and then applied to the journal page.  I really like the effect.

I love how the Work of Art swoosh can be used to make a circle.  This kind of looks like a Wedding Ring Quilt and shows the benefits of a prayer group with the unbroken chain of prayers.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  Please leave a message so I know you where here for a visit.

Blessings and Happy Crafting,
Belinda

A Light unto my feet ...

Hello Crafters,

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have posted here on my blog.  The activities of Christmas, New Year's and getting back into the ebb and flow of the everyday routine again has taken quite a bit of my time lately.

I have started a new journal that combines art and the memorization of scripture.  My friend MayMay has started a Facebook group for this purpose.  You can find it HERE.  It is a closed group, but you can ask to join.  Here is a pic of my first page.
Here is the list of the supplies I used:
Composition Notebook
Zig Memory System Pure Black Calligraphy pen
Zig Memory System Chocolate Writer pen
Stampin' Up! Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad
Stampin' Up! 2013-2015 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (Baked Brown Sugar)
Stampin' Up! Work of Art Stamp Set (Wood or Clear Mount)

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  Leave a comment that you were here.  I do enjoy hearing form you.

Thankful 'Leaves'

Have added another Thanksgiving card to my stack.  I have five more to go before sending them out.  These have been some of the easiest card to create.  This is certainly a CAS card.  I really like the clean appearance of this card.  Hope you like it too!

This is my 'modern art' take on falling leaves.  The Work of Art stamp set is perfect for this 'modern art' look.  This is so versatile.  Earlier today I used the same stamp to make the poinsettia flower.
